Volunteering – Building Our Community ![]() Volunteering is about people working with other people for the purpose of creating a more promising future for all. The Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition believes that in order to be a healthy and sustainable community we must be collaborative, constantly evolving, and increasingly active in the process of effectively managing the region’s social, economical and environmental needs and resources. The Bicycle Coalition offers fun, challenging and results driven opportunities for people to participate in the transformation of our region. The sharing of your personal and professional experiences and skills can significantly contribute to our community and generate a deep feeling of satisfaction from knowing you have made a difference. And, you will have many opportunities to enjoy meeting new people, learn new skills and even develop new interests – creating more value for you and others. Volunteers are vital to advancing the Coalition’s mission. You can help in a variety of ways that best suits your interests, skills and time. Volunteers help produce and participate in events throughout the year, increase organizational capacity, meet with governmental agencies and give a public voice about the Coalition’s mission and actions. Now, more than ever, is the time to participate in the planning and building of a new Tahoe Legacy – a legacy that is transforming Tahoe into a model ‘green-centric’ bioregion. A bicycle friendly community is one of the most immediate and practical ways to move our community into more promising and sustainable future. |
