ABOUT
US
The Lake Tahoe Bicycle Coalition (LTBC) is a nonprofit
membership organization founded in 2005 for the purpose of building
and sustaining a Bicycle Friendly Lake Tahoe. We believe bicycling is
an environmentally responsible activity and can contribute to the long-term
health and well being of people, economies and ecosystems.
Our Mission is to promote safe bicycle rights-of-ways and enjoyable
riding for transportation and recreation throughout the Lake Tahoe region.
There are five
key areas the LTBC is working for:
• Becoming a Bicycle Friendly Community as granted by the League
of American Bicyclists
• Building a Regional Bicycle Path Network connecting all communities
in the Lake Tahoe Region.
• Expanding The Safe Routes to Schools program to get more children
walking and bicycling safely to school.
• Promoting Share The Road campaign to educate motorists and bicyclists
so our roads are safer and more enjoyable for all to use, and
• Building the organizational capacity to positively influence
and powerfully act on the interests of bicyclists, economies and the
ecosystem in a way that produces optimal results for our entire community.
The LTBC is currently in the building stages of its organizational infrastructure
and capacity to create and deliver value to you and our communities.
To help us accomplish this, we invite all interested bicycle enthusiasts,
industry members, businesses and organizations to join with us in Making
Lake Tahoe a Bicycle Friendly Community. Your membership and assistance
will go a long way in building a New Tahoe Legacy for generations to
enjoy and thrive in.
Thank you for visiting our site. We are hopeful your
experience here was enjoyable and valuable for you. We would love to
hear from you and learn about your interests and concerns, how we can
improve our efforts, and what resources and energy you can bring to
bear to help move our collective action forward.
Ride On!
